How can you tell if this site, or any site you visit and use your credit card, is secure? There are several different ways.
- All reputable companies buy a certificate verifying who they are and the security of their site. Our certificate is from Thawte (pronounced thought) and is at the bottom of every page. To see how current the certificate is, you can actually click on the Thawte icon.
- You will notice that when you are at the page that requires you to enter your credit card, the web address, at the top of the page, begins with https: denoting a secure site.
- You will also see a gold lock icon in the lower right hand corner of the page.
All three symbols are there to assure you, the consumer, that the site you are viewing has taken extra precaution towards your security. |
